Upcoming vacation thoughts
Today I finalized my vacation plans for my upcoming vacation in July. I wanted to go to the beach but I was torn between Panama City Beach and the Alabama Gulf Coast. Decisions are hard...after asking my dad for advice he suggested somewhere totally different, Destin, Florida. I decided on Panama City Beach. Now for the question of where to stay..I wasn't concerned too much about the cost since I will only be there for two nights (the people going with me can only go for two nights). I went to the website of Long Beach Resort, where I stayed last time and they were all booked up, so I went hunting on the internet. I came across one I've never heard before, called Boardwalk Central, on hotels.com. Come to find out, this is a brand new condo building that opened on Memorial Day Weekend. And the price wasn't too bad (a one bedroom condo for $219 a night). I went and reserved it so it is a done deal.
One reason I didn't go back to the Alabama Gulf Coast is that a friend who recently went down there told me that there is still a good bit that is still closed due to Hurricane Ivan. I went online today and looked up some info on the condo I stayed down there that was devistated by Ivan, Pelican Pointe. I went to Meyer Real Estate's website and found some picture of the restoration of the building. Let's do another comparison like I did back in October:
