Host Maury Povich is a television news veteran who first gained national fame as anchor of the nightly newsmagazine series "A Current Affair." He began his broadcast career in 1966 when he served as a news reporter and sportscaster at WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C. In the following years, he hosted talk shows and anchored newscasts in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Washington and New York. For the last nine years he has hosted his own nationally syndicated talk shows. The current "Maury" has shown the largest increase in audience of any talk shows this year.
